Blouberg Strand is located between Big Bay and Table View Beach. The corner of the
beach has some great rock pools to explore. From the beach you can look out into Table
Bay as well as look back down the beach toward Table View.
Blouberg Strand is a clean and quite beach that is found in the Western Cape Province
of South Africa, in a town called Blouberg Strand. The town that is situated on the
Blaauwberg Coast about 20 minutes drive away from the busy and well-known city of Cape
Town and if you are planning to fly to this destination then this town is roughly 30
minutes away from Cape Town International Airport. Blouberg Strand is the gateway to some
of the world's best seafood dishes.
Blouberg Strand also offers one of the best views of Table Mountain and many photos of
the famous mountain are normally taken from here, with the waves splashing over the rocks
and the mountain in the background. Blouberg Strand's white sea sand is ideal for a
refreshing swim in the Atlantic Ocean, windsurfing and kite surfing. There is a lot of
dinning areas where visitors can wine and dine in an original fisherman´s style while
enjoying a beautiful sunset. Blouberg Strand has a lot different types of accommodation
from self-catering apartments and hotels to a number of bed and breakfast
establishments as well as numerous attractions, activities, bars, restaurants where
the visitors can enjoy themselves.
The Blouberg Strand beach has a long coastline. It is normally empty which is why
it is mostly used by dog walkers and kite flyers because it has enough space for dogs
and their owners to enjoy a peaceful walk without them attacking each other. The
crashing waves are perfect for windsurfing or kite-surfing but if you do not feel
like endulging yourself in any straining activities, then the Blouberg Strand is
also ideal for long health walks. You can see Robben Island quite clearly from the
Blouberg beach, in-fact, that is the route most prisoners used to escape the prison,
but most of them did not make it to shore because strong currents and sharks.
No one can really explain the beauty of Blouberg Strand. You just have to be there
yourself to really feel and see this amazing beach. Many people have tried to write
songs about Blouberg Strand, but not one song can fully describe the beauty of this
well known paradise.
